Description of the project : BNWLA had always encouraged community initiatives to ensure sustainable reintegration of trafficked survivors both at family & societal level. In several cases, the organization had successfully build replicable model of community-based sustainable reintegration & in other also inspired different stakeholders to adopt community focused programming in their reintegration related errands. BNWLA followed specific steps during pre & post reintegration process.

The reintegration process starts through collection of information from different formal and informal sources regarding the survivor’s present status. 10 focal point of BNWLA, 42 partners, 30 down town legal aid clinic, law enforcing agencies, International NGOs, Networking NGOs in abroad, Foreign Mission in abroad, local community people, pimps and customer of different brothel, BNWLA members, direct and indirect beneficiaries of different project, media, few like minded organization and as well as the victimised women and survivorren - are the main source of information collection. Besides BNWLA has countrywide Hotline services and 24 hours open door unit to meet any emergencies and as well as it back BNWLA to gather any violence related information from any places. After data collection following initiatives are undertaken-

- Survival support > BNWLA provides basic needs support to the survivors including food, shelter, cloth, medication and other for meeting their survival needs.
- Developmental support >
- Psychological support >
- Reintegration support & communities involvement >

3. Lesson Learned : BNWLA had trace out following problems & lessons in existing reintegration process as well as in building community based sustainable reintegration mechanism building:
1. Problematic relationship between survivors and their family
2. Reluctance of the family members to participate in the family counseling
3. Disinclination of family members to return their survivors in their respective families

4. Good Practice : Community based care and protection is a unique model of BNWLA to address alternate care mechanisms and to ensure quality standard of care for survivors of trafficking. Under community based care & protection system- options for survivors' care and protection has been opened to community (means the community has full sovereignty to decide- how they protect integrated survivors from any crisis or how they support survivors etc.). Involvement of community care committees had ensured that the survivors, never faced any problem in the society and could restore the dignity, what s/he has loosen earlier due to negative consequences of trafficking. Community based care & protection system has been built such a way that, if the donor funding ceased in any reasons, there will be no fear that the community will not work for this purpose. Because the community care committees have now reached in an institutional shape and they by themselves can decide- how the sustainability of their works can be maintained. What BNWLA couldn’t do alone, that had been possible by the community. The community members are now playing great role in social mobilization and especially in the respective survivor’s family counseling.

Khulna Dated: 13 of February 2008

Report on Divisional Level Capacity Building Workshop In terms of Right to mobility with dignity organized by national Action Forum, facilitated by Mr. Raju Ahamed of TREE Foundation, Dhaka. Held in Rupantor Training center. Attended by 30 organizations of Khulna Division. The inaugural session was adorned by Mr. Swapan Guha,CE, Rupantar, Mr. Mizanur Rahman, Sr.Program Officer IOM & Mrs. Sabiha of BNWLA. An issue based potgaan was performed by Rupantor institute of folk theatre and disscused by all participants. The session was presided over by Mr.Swapan Guha. Firstly the meeting was informed of a sudden death news of Asraful Alam Tutu ED of CDP. The meeting observed one minute silence praying for his departed soul.

We discussed on abstract writing, presentation skills, handling group discussion, designing website, hosting and so on.......

The 2 days workshop ends in successful achievements held on 12 & 13 February, 2008

With an objective to develop Capacity of field level organizations to present their views on rights to mobility with dignity at national level conference successfully.

It is a pleasure to express that we have completed divisional level capacity building workshop successfully at Rajshahi division during 3-4 February 2008 jointly organized by IOM, SHISHUK and ACD. There are a good number of organizations working on migration issue around the country. This workshop was organized with 20 people from 20 different organizations who are working at Rajshahi division on the issue.

The workshop was inaugurated by executive director of ACD explaining objectives and expectations from participants.

It was perceived by all participants that this kind of workshop is helpful for them for many reasons including writing abstract to attract conference authority and finally presenting successfully at national level. They also agreed that it is a continuous process of developing together for expressing views and raising voice properly. Using ICT and web based interactive learning center session was highly participated by participants.

Hope this small news will initiate bigger discussion soon.
